Funnel.io software is a web application software that helps users collect and analyze data from different sources in one place. It works by gathering information from various channels, such as social media activity, email metrics, and website traffic, and organizing it into a single dashboard. This information can be used to optimize your marketing and sales strategies, and ultimately improve your bottom line.
Funnel.io can automatically generate spreadsheets with the data provided to it using Google Sheets. This article will cover how to generate spreadsheets in Google Sheets using your Funnel.io data and how to add these spreadsheets to your Screenly account.
Generating Spreadsheets from Funnel.io
The first step is to log in to your Funnel.io account. After logging in to your Funnel.io account, click on “Google Sheets” from the left side-menu.
In the new Google Sheets tab, click on the “Create Data Share” button at the top right.
Proceed to log in with your Google account. Next, type in a name for your spreadsheet and select the data sources you would like to use to generate the spreadsheet. Adjust the other settings as you see fit, then click on “Save & Run” at the top-right. This will generate and save a spreadsheet to your Google Sheets account.
The Google Sheet can then be added as content to your Screenly account.
Getting the Google Sheets public share URL
The next step is to adjust a few settings so that your Google Sheets spreadsheet displays smoothly on your digital signs. Click “File” on the top left of your Google Sheets document. Click the “Share” option from the dropdown menu, and then click the “Publish to the web” option from the submenu.
On the new popup window, select the particular sheet you would like to display by clicking on the “Entire Document” dropdown menu. Clicking on the sheet to display would generate the public URL for that sheet. Next, copy the generated URL to your clipboard.
Adding the Google Sheets content to Screenly
You are now ready to upload your Google Sheets as digital signage content within your Screenly account.
To do so, log in to your Screenly account here. If you do not have a Screenly account, register for a 14-day free trial.
After logging into your Screenly account, click on the “New” button on the top right of your screen. Then, click on the “Content” tab in the dropdown menu.
Next, click the URL tab in the popup modal and paste the public URL into the “Enter URL link” input field. Be sure to click “Finish” after you successfully add the URL.
With the above steps completed, you can now add this asset to a playlist. To add your content to a playlist, click the “Playlist” tab from the left-hand menu. If you wish to add a new playlist, click the “+ New Playlist” button on the top right of the new screen that loads. To edit the new playlist or a previously existing playlist, click on the name of the playlist you wish to edit from the list of playlists.
Within the playlist, click the “+” icon in the “Content” section. After clicking the icon, you will see a popup that will allow you to add the Google Sheets URL to the playlist from your content item collection.
In the new “Add content to playlist” popup, find your Google Sheets content and click the “+” button next to the file. Then, click the “Done” button below. You will then see your Google Sheets in the playlist’s content section.
Next to the Google Sheets listing, type the duration for which you’d like the Google Sheets to be displayed on your digital sign. Be sure to click “Save” on the bottom right.
To assign the playlist containing the Google Sheets content to a screen, click on the “Plays On” input field in the “Edit Playlist” section.
A dropdown will appear containing all your group labels and screens. Select the screen or group of screens where you would like the playlist to display. Make sure to click “Save” at the bottom of the dropdown after selecting the screen or group of screens you want.
Once you assign the playlist containing the Google Sheets URL content to your screen, your Google Sheets presentation will display on your TV or monitor in just minutes.
That’s it! If you followed the steps above, you are now displaying Google Sheets on a digital sign with Screenly.
